QuoteWhat is a master? . . not someone who teaches something, but  . . who inspires you to do your best to discover a knowledge you already have in your soul.
(third person pronouns replaced with second person)

reminds me of how i talk about CA's books as a "shelf" for things i already knew but did not have organized... or that passage from All Our Hidden Gifts:

"like feelings i already had but finally have a map for"

(Repetition)
QuoteLook at the skilled farrier working steel. To the untrained eye, he is merely repeating the same hammer blows.
But anyone who knows the way of the bow knows that each time he lifts the hammer and brings it down, the intensity of the blow is different. The hand repeats the same gesture, but as it approaches the metal, it understands that it must touch it with more or less force.

the magic of this soft understanding of a nuanced repetition.
i have found that i cannot achieve this with most gameplay, but sometimes i can. i wonder.
