even though the thing id like to do exists only in a very far off future, ive found that accepting an identity other than game designer has made a very big difference in my mood and outlook on life.

the recent ai-splosion had me reflecting a lot on the nature of software; its widespread interest rocked me to my core and forced me to rethink my relationship to all the stuff that happens on computer screens at all. it struck me that there has been a lot of hype about beautiful gleaming computer devices over the decades and a lot of people trying to justify their existence to people who have little to no need for a powerful computation device.

but screens are fucking sexy. they are beautiful brilliant toys so seductive that making them moderately attractive for a time is desirable because the technology is attractive

and oh my god do we want our love to be reciprocated.
