first of all, when people ask 'ok what is gameplay?' i think it is missing the point. at the same time, i understand why it is the question. i bleeted "a lot of people are convinced that words mean things" sometime yesterday and i think it was about the nature of the statement, "kill gameplay". it is not to be understood in parts.

Quote from: kinopio space transcribed. . . am i . . . casting a spell on myself?

words are magic

art is a mnemonic

. . . i have accessed something deep down, a strong anchor that has reached the bottom of the ocean

"kill gameplay" is the chain of that anchor.

at the bottom of the ocean is a belief, long drowned by the passage of weeks, that gameplay is a waste of time.

and here i am holding the chain.

i suppose that it seems very logical, that the way to find my way back to that point at the bottom of the ocean (see first 15 minutes of Don Potts lecture) is to understand the statement logically, to break it down into parts. and yet, i am here with my chain. it works for me. it is very possible that i was not thinking particularly logically when i first arrived at this spot at the bottom of the ocean, that my map was wrong. but i think it is also possible that no map could ever help me get back here: that it is not a place of logic, but of emotion. i am looking for a way to arrive at -- no, i have found a way to arrive at -- an emotional state and not a factual one.

as a logical statement, "kill gameplay" may be broken.

as a spell, it is magic.
